Fullerton College Prepares for Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill

California community college scheduled a campuswide evacuation practice and mock emergency response for Oct. 15.

Fullerton College will conduct a campuswide emergency preparedness exercise Oct. 15 as part of the annual Great ShakeOut Drill.

The 30-minute event, set for 10:15 a.m., will test campus communication systems and practice building evacuation protocols across all departments.

Organizers will initiate the drill with an alert over campus landlines, prompting students, faculty and staff to practice drop, cover and hold procedures before evacuating to designated outdoor assembly areas.

The exercise will also feature a mock triage station in the quad, where health services staff and campus safety officers will simulate emergency medical treatment, mental health support and specialized chair evacuations.

Campus operations will resume following the conclusion of the drill at 10:45 a.m.
