RAD Receives Order for Seven Solar-Powered Campus Security Systems
The order, placed by a major public research university, covers 14 ROSA units mounted on seven mobile platforms that operate without a fixed electrical connection.

An unnamed public research university with more than 25,000 students has placed an order for seven RIO 360 security systems from Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD). The order was placed through a RAD channel partner.
Two ROSA units are mounted on each portable, solar-powered system, bringing the order’s total to 14 ROSA units. Each system provides a 360-degree field of view. The systems can be relocated and do not depend on permanent electrical service, the company said.
RAD lists analytics for detecting people, firearms and vehicles among the ROSA units’ functions. The equipment also supports license plate recognition, live video, digital signage and audio messaging. It can connect with the company’s notification and automated-response software.
