Secur Deploys Private Security App Across Texas

A new private security app is becoming available to individuals and small businesses in Texas. The app, Secur, can help users summon and deploy private protection officers on demand as needed. The app will launch later this year and serve residents of San Antonio, Houston, Austin and Dallas, with nationwide expansion coming after that, according to a news release.

Members can use the app to book service from security officers either on-demand or scheduled in advance, according to user preference. Secur’s responding officers are experienced private protection and off-duty police officers trained in private security. The news release reports that all responding officers have been vetted and gone through FBI background checks. Previously, their duties have included protecting celebrities, politicians and dignitaries, and the app’s expansion extends that privilege to individuals and local businessowners.

The news release discusses potential use of the app by private citizens for situations like roadside assistance, home protection while on vacation, online sales meetups, blind dates and more. Likewise, small businesses unable to afford full-time security contracts can use the app as needed for situations like large gatherings, terminating employees, open houses and more.
