Safe and Sound Schools Launches National Safety Training Series
School administrators, law enforcement and experts will gather across three states to focus on crisis prevention and behavioral threat management.

A national nonprofit organization focused on school crisis prevention and recovery will host a series of training events across the country aimed at equipping educators, security personnel and law enforcement with proactive violence prevention strategies.
Safe and Sound Schools will launch its "Road to Prevent" series in October, offering specialized instruction on behavioral threat assessment, emerging security technology and emergency preparedness.
The tour includes four regional summits and conferences:
- Lone Star School Safety Summit on Threat Assessment: Dallas/Fort Worth, Oct. 21–22
- Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management Symposium at Lincoln Center: New York City, Oct. 28–29
- National School Safety and Security Summit: Phoenix, Dec. 3–5
- 2nd Annual International PREVENT Conference: Dallas/Fort Worth, Jan. 6–8, 2027
The training sessions will feature prominent figures in the field of violence prevention and behavioral threat assessment, including former U.S. Secret Service research psychologists, school safety advocates, developer of the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines and leadership from the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
Organizers designed the curriculum to move beyond single-solution security approaches, providing school leaders with actionable strategies to identify and manage potential threats before incidents occur.
