Student with Gun Arrested at Fort Worth Prep School

A student at a preparatory school in Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested this week after pulling out a gun in a classroom, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Police say that on Tuesday, Feb. 15, a 16-year-old student at Uplift Mighty Preparatory School entered a classroom that wasn’t his. The teacher asked why he was there, and he reached into his backpack. The teacher saw a gun in the student’s bag, at which point the student fled, according to local news.

School staff detained the student until police arrived, placed him under arrest and transported him to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center. No injuries were reported throughout the incident. Police told local news that they don’t yet know what the student will be charged with.
