Allegion US has introduced its Campus-to-Community Student Living solutions, an initiative designed to help off-campus housing operators unify fragmented security software and hardware. The system allows property managers to integrate their buildings with the same digital credentials that students use on their university campuses.
By leveraging an open environment of hardware and software partners, the ecosystem enables the use of Schlage’s Resident Key within Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Students living in participating off-campus housing complexes can access their apartments, residential amenities and university facilities using an iPhone, Apple Watch or Android device.
For property operators, the unified platform is intended to streamline heavy seasonal turnover cycles and eliminate the logistical challenges of physical keys, such as frequent lockouts and high rekeying costs. The system also integrates directly into existing property management workflows.
The technology was recently deployed through a partnership involving Preiss, IRIS Technologies, and Quext at The Collective at Norman, an off-campus housing community serving University of Oklahoma students. Property staff reported a reduction in after-hours lockouts and improved operational efficiency following the rollout.
