Rave Mobile Safety Acquires AppArmor

Critical communication solutions provider Rave Mobile Safety announced this week that it has acquired AppArmor, an industry leader in custom-branded mobile safety apps. A press release states that the acquisition will merge the Rave platform’s scalability and robustness with AppArmor’s agile customization ability to provide the best of both worlds with a customer-centric mindset.

“AppArmor shares our mission to disrupt and innovate critical communications and incident collaboration and has established a robust customer base that speaks to their ability to deliver technology that makes a difference,” said Todd Piett, CEO of Rave. “With the addition of AppArmor, the combined company can now offer our clients an even broader suite of market-leading solutions to enhance safety and response for higher education institutions, public safety agencies and private enterprises.”

AppArmor was founded in 2011 and develops custom-branded emergency notification and safety mobile apps. According to the press release, it uses a proprietary approach to launch and support customized apps. Beyond the higher education and healthcare verticals, AppArmor has developed solutions for K–12 anonymous tipping in Florida and Hawaii, and also a COVID-19 module that supports vaccination validations for employees returning to work.

Combining Rave’s multimodal mass notifications, crisis management solutions and deep integration into 9-1-1 response process and AppArmor’s content management and configurable app capabilities creates an organization even more prepared to meet customer and industry needs and respond to market trends. AppArmor also brings a substantial higher education customer base to Rave’s existing college and university coverage, meaning Rave will now protect 75 percent of the higher education population in North America.
