Three Killed in Shooting at UNLV, Suspect Also Dead

Three people were killed and another injured in a shooting at UNLV Wednesday afternoon in Las Vegas. The suspected gunman was killed in a shootout with law enforcement. That’s according to The Associated Press.

The report said that the suspect was a professor who recently applied for a job at the university.

Reports of shots began at 11:45 a.m. local time on the fourth floor of the building that houses UNLV’s Lee Business School. The suspect went to several floors in the building before being killed in a shootout with two university detectives outside the building.

UNLV is just miles away from the site of the deadliest mass shooting in United States history. On Oct. 1, 2007, a gunman perched from a high-rise suite at the Mandalay Bay hotel killed 60 and injured hundreds more at a music festival.
