Teenager Shot Right Outside of a Santa Rosa High School

A 17 year old was shot Tuesday right outside of a high school in Santa Rosa, California.

A 17-year-old victim was shot Tuesday morning just outside Ridgway High School in Santa Rosa, California.

According to Santa Rosa Police Capt. John Cregan, the teenager is in stable condition after being shot in their abdomen.

The possible suspect was detained, and the search for the weapon is ongoing, police said on Twitter.

"There is no evidence that the weapon is on campus," police tweeted.

NBC Bay Area reported the incident was isolated and not an active shooter situation.

However, Ridgway, Santa Rosa High School and Santa Rosa Junior College were on lockdown this morning.
