Boston College has renewed its multiyear partnership with security screening provider Evolv Technology to upgrade screening equipment across athletic venues.
Under the agreement, the university replaced its walk-through scanners with second-generation hardware and added three units for bag inspections.
Boston College hosts more than 30 varsity sports programs, drawing visitors, students and fans to campus facilities. Athletic officials noted the hardware update aims to speed up entry lines while maintaining security protocols.
Colleges across New England increasingly use automated screening equipment to process high-volume entry gates rather than using manual bag searches and traditional metal detectors.
