Geogentia Launches Perimeter Threat Monitoring Service

Schools and other organizations can receive online threat alerts covering physical safety, cybersecurity and impersonation.

Online threats against campuses, employees and facilities are among the concerns addressed by Geogentia’s new monitoring service, Perimeter, according to the company.

The service searches social media, public websites and the dark web using client-supplied names, locations, keywords, faces and images. Coverage can include specialized forums and applications.

Perimeter evaluates findings across 25 categories encompassing more than 500 specific threats. Coverage includes violence, stalking, harassment, impersonation, hate, extremism and event security concerns. It also addresses fraud, insider threats, phishing, deceptive domains, compromised credentials and malware associated with a client.

Qualifying findings generate notifications with response instructions and one of four severity ratings: critical, high, medium or informational. Critical alerts also trigger telephone calls. Monthly reports summarize reviewed activity and trends.

Clients do not need to install software or operate a dashboard. Coverage can span one location, multiple campuses or family members.

Intended users include schools, businesses, religious institutions, family offices and public figures. School monitoring can identify threats naming students or staff, administrator impersonation and exposed employee credentials.
