Yale Integrates Smart Access into Yardi Resident App

A new partnership allows apartment residents to unlock doors and manage daily tasks through a single digital key interface.

Yale has integrated its smart access technology into the RentCafe Resident App from Yardi, allowing multifamily housing residents to use a single application to unlock doors, pay rent and submit maintenance requests.

The integration aims to streamline access management for property operators facing annual resident turnover rates averaging 50% across multifamily portfolios. By digitizing access, property teams can reduce costs related to lost keys, rekeying doors and manual administrative duties.

The connected system links Yale smart locks directly with Yardi software workflows, automatically issuing and revoking digital key access based on lease start and end dates. Property managers can also grant temporary access to vendors, maintenance workers and prospective renters taking self-guided tours.

The smart lock hardware operates without requiring a central hub or Wi-Fi network connection, lowering installation costs for properties with limited infrastructure. Residents can use the application to access individual apartments, amenity areas, package rooms and common building spaces.

The digital access features are available through the RentCafe Resident App.
