Safe and Sound Schools will host a free virtual training summit focused on Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, known as BTAM, during National Safe Schools Week from Oct. 19 to Oct. 23.
The week-long asynchronous event, titled "BTAM Foundations: Threat Assessment Training," aims to equip K–12 educators, administrators, school safety leaders, student support staff and community partners with core strategies to identify and prevent potential safety crises.
Designed for school districts at all stages of threat assessment implementation, the summit will cover current safety trends, early warning sign identification and practical frameworks for establishing multidisciplinary prevention teams. Participants will learn how proactive intervention and collaborative support systems can reduce risk across school communities.
Following the virtual summit, organizers will offer advanced instruction during the 2nd Annual International PREVENT Conference, a three-day in-person event focused on complex threat assessment concepts and comprehensive safety strategy.
School personnel and community partners can register online for the BTAM Foundations Virtual Summit.
