ASSA ABLOY Launches 360° Virtual Tour to Showcase Access Control

ASSA ABLOY recently debuted an online, 360° virtual tour highlighting security and access control solutions to help university administrators address common challenges. The tour allows university decisionmakers to see how these solutions can assist in creating a safe, sustainable and healthy educational environment, according to a news release.

The self-guided walkthrough tour demonstrates the importance of door security and access control on a university campus. The immersive experience vastly simplifies the process of determining which solutions are best suited for various degrees of problems.

“With the help of our 360° online tour, universities will be able to visualize how door security solutions can be used to address everyday challenges, from ADA compliance to classroom scheduling and residence hall security,” said Jeremy Saline, Senior Director of Business Development, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for universities to understand how they can improve safety and security on their campuses.”

The virtual tour is available from any Internet-enabled device at https://virtualcity.assaabloydss.com/.

  • Rethinking Campus Security From the Inside

For decades, campus security strategies focused on keeping threats outside school walls. But since the tragedy at Columbine High School, data has shown that many attacks begin inside the building, often in classrooms and corridors. This shift has prompted schools to rethink security from the inside and place greater emphasis on interior elements such as classroom doors. This shift is evidenced by a new generation of classroom door systems engineered to delay inside intruders and an ASTM standard that raises the bar on how these systems must be designed to defend against attack.
