Salient Systems Announces Release of CompleteView v7.3

Salient Systems recently released the latest update to its video management software, according to a news release. CompleteView v7.3 offers new features to enhance user experience, including enhanced camera analytic event support, reliable capture and storage of all analytic events, and the ability to set aliases for events.

The enhanced camera analytic event support allows users to configure and capture events—regardless of recording type—delivered through the ONVIF driver. Another new feature is the “Event Search” playback, which lets users leverage new camera technology to improve real-time and forensic investigations, the news release reports. The improved search and playback experience now features smoother scrubbing, improved playback speed, reverse playback, customizations to skip forward or backward and jump to the next or previous event, and individual trim and export functions.

“CompleteView v7.3 represents a significant milestone for us, as we continue to develop and release software that meets the needs of our customers,” said Salient Systems President Chris Meiter. “We are thrilled to deliver these enhancements to camera analytics and playback experiences, which are vital to any operation that uses video.”

More information about CompleteView v7.3 is available in the Salient Systems Q2 2023 Highlights Brochure.

  • Rethinking Campus Security From the Inside

For decades, campus security strategies focused on keeping threats outside school walls. But since the tragedy at Columbine High School, data has shown that many attacks begin inside the building, often in classrooms and corridors. This shift has prompted schools to rethink security from the inside and place greater emphasis on interior elements such as classroom doors. This shift is evidenced by a new generation of classroom door systems engineered to delay inside intruders and an ASTM standard that raises the bar on how these systems must be designed to defend against attack.
