Mother of Uvalde Shooter Arrested in Domestic Violence Dispute

National news reports that the mother of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooter was arrested and faces accusations of threatening to kill the man she was living with.

Adriana Martinez Reyes, 40, was arrested in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Jan. 4, according to The New York Times. Local police were called to her home twice in one day. National news reports that a man at the residence told police that he and Reyes had had a “falling out.” He said that he was disabled and that “even though he loved her, he had grown afraid of her,” according to People.

The New York Times also cited court records in which Reyes told police that she was the mother of “the one that killed all of the children in the Uvalde, Texas, shooting.” Reyes’ son Salvador Ramos, 18, killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School on May 24 of last year. Immediately prior to the shooting, he also shot his grandmother, who survived.
