A new digital screening process will check visitors at all Minisink Valley Central School District schools and its central office beginning Nov. 9.
The district will use Visitor Aware to review identification and flag potential security concerns. Visitors must bring valid government-issued photo identification and remain outside while staff scan their IDs and the system checks their information.
The screening checks national sex offender registries, government watchlists, court orders and a district list of people who cannot enter school property.
District personnel will review potential concerns that the system identifies. Staff will issue printed passes to approved visitors before allowing them inside.
