Oregon’s Hillsboro School District plans to improve campus security and cybersecurity through a $430 million bond program that includes projects at every school and district building.
The district outlined the five-year program after preliminary election returns showed Measure 34-355 on track to pass.
Beyond security improvements, the district plans to repair roofs, update heating and cooling equipment, modernize classrooms and expand extracurricular facilities, including lighted artificial turf fields.
Capital projects and planning officer Beth Graser will oversee the work with support from district staff and Cornerstone Management Group.
The district also plans to recruit 12 to 15 members for an oversight committee. Members will review project progress, financial information and audits. The district will publish updates through its bond website and newsletters.
