PSA Network Introduces Denver College Students to Security Careers

PSA partnered with Community College of Denver to connect 66 students with industry professionals through two campus events.

Security professionals met with 66 Community College of Denver students through a PSA Network partnership aimed at introducing career options and addressing industry workforce shortages.

The two campus sessions featured panels covering career experiences, professional development and security technology’s role in protecting buildings and people. Participants studied fields including engineering, public safety, information technology and manufacturing.

PSA reported that all 16 respondents to the college’s follow-up survey found the sessions they attended useful for career development. Among respondents, 94% gained new information about career paths or industries. All reported gaining contacts or resources and feeling more prepared for their careers.

The sessions formed part of the College Outreach Program, which PSA, the Security Industry Association and the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent lead.
