Baylor Students Told To Shelter In Dorm Over COVID-19 Outbreak

Baylor students, in Waco Texas, have been told to shelter in place for four days due to a COVID-19 outbreak. The students live in Martin Hall dorm and are being asked to stay at home after more than 20 students tested positive for coronavirus.

Twenty-one students on two floors of the Martin Hall dorm all were positive for COVID-19, administrators said. All who live in the dorm were asked to reside in place as the university rolls forward with on-campus classes.

Every Martin Hall student will be tested and the Baylor Administration will decide what to do based on those results. Baylor's COVID dashboard shows 456 active cases and a positivity rate of 12.4 percent.

Baylor is requiring a negative COVID-19 test of all students coming to campus for the fall semester.

Face coverings are required to be worn by all individuals (faculty, staff, students and visitors) in all buildings on the Baylor campus and in all outside campus areas where social distancing is not possible, when in groups or where congestion is likely.
