ZeroEyes Appoints Dr. Peter Langman Senior Advisor on Violence Prevention

ZeroEyes, the creators of the first AI-based gun detection video analytics platform to earn the full U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation, today announced the appointment of Peter Langman, Ph. D., as Senior Advisor on Violence Prevention. Dr. Langman, a leading authority on the psychology of school shooters and mass violence perpetrators, brings decades of research and expertise to help guide ZeroEyes product development.

“I am honored to join ZeroEyes in its mission to prevent gun violence and save lives,” said Dr. Langman. “Violence prevention is the key. It’s not just about training personnel in the schools; prevention involves getting students educated, setting up anonymous tip lines, making sure the parents are onboard, and deploying proactive technology to identify threats before they turn into tragedies.”

Dr. Langman is frequently engaged by professionals in mental health, education, and law enforcement to conduct training on the psychology and identifying markers of potential school shooters. He has authored three acclaimed books on the topic, including “Warning Signs: Identifying School Shooters Before They Strike,” “School Shooters: Understanding High School, College, and Adult Perpetrators,” and “Why Kids Kill: Inside the Minds of School Shooters.” His deep understanding of behavioral indicators and psychological patterns will help drive innovation for ZeroEyes’ product division. ZeroEyes provides AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness software that is layered onto existing digital security cameras. If a gun is identified, images are instantly shared with the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), staffed 24/7/365 by specially trained U.S. military and law enforcement veterans. If these experts determine that the threat is valid, they dispatch alerts and actionable intelligence, including visual description, gun type, and last known location, to local staff and law enforcement as quickly as 3 to 5 seconds from detection.

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Peter Langman to ZeroEyes,” said Mike Lahiff, CEO and cofounder of ZeroEyes. “His unparalleled expertise in the psychology of school shooters and mass violence perpetrators will be instrumental in shaping how we continue to fight against gun-related violence. We are incredibly grateful to have someone of his caliber guiding our efforts to prevent violence and protect lives.”
