Kentucky District Adds Two More SROs
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has placed two more school resource officers in Hardin County Schools, bringing the district’s total school resource officers to eight.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has placed two more school resource officers in Hardin County Schools, bringing the district’s total school resource officers to eight.
According to Hardin County Schools, deputies Kevin Bennett and Troy Talley began their SRO duties Monday. Bennett and Talley are posted at Bluegrass Middle School and East Hardin Middle School, respectively.
“We placed two deputies in the district in January and are thankful for the opportunity to place two more,” Hardin County Sheriff John Ward said. “I know that Deputy Bennett and Deputy Talley will work hard and have fun developing and nurturing relationships with students and create an even greater sense of security in our schools and community in which they serve.”
The two officers will be based out of the middle school campuses but also spend time at the elementary schools that feed into those middle schools.
“Hardin County Schools is dedicated to continued and increased student safety and well-being,” HCS Superintendent Teresa Morgan said. “We appreciate Sheriff Ward and other law-enforcement agencies who continue to partner with us in ensuring our schools are safe. We are thankful for these deputies’ hard work and the relationships they will create.”
The two new hires bring Hardin County School’s school resource officer total to eight. The officers are assigned to a variety of schools around the district.
Kentucky school districts will be required under Senate Bill 1 to hire at least one school resource officer for each campus as budgets allow.
