Video Analytics Solutions Provider Joins School Safety Coalition

The ZeroNow coalition, an alliance of security and safety professionals dedicated to preventing violence in schools, recently gained a new member in behavioral recognition video analytics solutions provider viisights, Inc., according to a news release.

“We formed ZeroNow with the goal of creating an alliance that would generate new ideas and innovation to stop the relentless assaults—both physical and cyber—on K–12 schools and colleges and universities,” said ZeroNow CEO and co-founder Ara Bagdasarian. “Viisights is pushing real-time video analytics with behavioral capabilities to the next level, which is a great addition to our knowledge base.”

Viisights’ behavioral analytics allow for the automatic detection of potentially critical events in campus environments. The news release reports that they offer enhanced “person holding a weapon” detection that is capable of identifying individuals carrying weapons as well as automatically imitating a lockdown if weapons are, indeed, detected. Other analytics include suspicious activity monitoring, violence prediction, fire and smoke detection, tailgating detection, and perimeter protection. The functions can integrate with existing video management and access control solutions to create a comprehensive approach to a secure campus.

“Behavioral recognition systems give us real-time video intelligence,” said Asaf Birenzvieg, viisights CEO and co-founder. “When dealing with incidents involving active shooters, bullying, fighting, vandalism, and antisocial behavior, intelligent real-time behavioral recognition video goes far in safeguarding the learning environment.”
