Safe and Sound Schools Announces The “Good Days” Tour and Contest

Safe and Sound Schools is hosting The “Good Days” Tour campaign and contest this year to encourage high school students to assess their school culture, and teach the connection between a great school culture and overall school safety.

Safe and Sound Schools and actor Jeremy Ray Taylor announced the launch of The “Good Days” Tour campaign and contest. The tour encourages high school students to think about their campus’s culture, and shows how important a positive culture is to overall school safety.

Safe and Sound Schools is a national school safety nonprofit that was started by Michele Gay and Alissa Parker in 2013. Both Gay and Parker’s children died in the Sandy Hook shooting. The organization works with school communities and mental health, law enforcement, and safety professionals to create and ensure the safest possible learning environment for all youth. They deliver crisis-prevention, response, and recovery programs, tools, and resources, backed by national experts, to educate all members of the school community.

Students can apply for their high school to become a stop on the tour as part of this nationwide contest. The tour will include activities that will take place during a school assembly, including:

• A SPARK Workshop with Jeremy Ray Taylor

• Musical performance by Chasing da Vinci

• Presentations with Safe and Sound Schools’ Michele Gay & Alissa Parker

• An evening concert for students and families

To enter, students must visit https://www.safeandsoundschools.org/tour and submit a video application. The contest ends on August 31, 2019. The organization will announce three winning high schools that will be tour stops on their tour in September.
