Plano ISD, just north of Dallas, Texas, is adding security measures to campus.

Last week the direct announced several new security measures including metal detectors, surveillance campuses, fire alarms, public address systems and automated door looks.

Plano ISD said that it would being the new security by implementing random metal detector screenings at middle and high schools in the district. Students in grades 9 through 12 will also be required to wear ID badges.

Each senior high school also has marked patrol vehicles and two new staff positions serving as safety monitors.
