McDaniel College Names Eric D. Immler as Director of Campus Safety

Eric D. Immler of Hanover, Pa., has been named director of campus safety at McDaniel College. In his new role at McDaniel, he will provide leadership and support to the college’s department of campus safety.

Immler has more than 15 years of experience as an officer, with expertise in campus and public safety. He worked in McDaniel’s department of campus safety, where he rose to the title of captain. Most recently, Immler served as the chief of the department of campus safety at Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills, Md.

He also previously worked for the Westminster Police Department, Manchester Police Department and the Maryland Capitol Police.

A member of the Maryland Chiefs’ of Police Association, Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (ACLEA) Chesapeake Region, Harvard Associates in Police Science and the Carroll County Fraternal Order of Police, Immler has also received several commendation awards, among others.

Elizabeth Towle, acting dean of student affairs, said, “I am pleased that Eric has returned to McDaniel to fill this role. The college community is very fortunate to have someone with Eric’s experience leading the campus safety operation.”

A Westminster High School graduate, Immler is an Honors graduate of the Maryland Police Training Commission Police Academy. He also attended the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area campus public safety institute.
