Ruben Martinez began employment with Katy ISD in December, 2017 as the Emergency Management Coordinator with duties that include developing and implementing a district-wide, all hazards, emergency response plan while facilitating campus safety and security reviews as required by state law and local policies.  Mr. Martinez also coordinates district emergency responses; provides district staff training in security and emergency management and establishes liaison for district emergency efforts with surrounding municipalities.

Mr. Martinez is originally from El Paso, Texas.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after serving 24 years with the United States Marine Corps.
