Hanwha Techwin Undergoes Rebrand to Reflect Vision for the Future

Video surveillance company Hanwha Techwin recently announced that it has changed its name to Hanwha Vision, according to a company news release. The change reflects the provider’s offerings as a global vision solutions provider and its commitment to offering data-driven business insights and the goal of operational efficiency.

“By building on our core solutions through the ongoing innovation, we will continue to alleviate customers’ pain points while adding new value through advanced vision solutions,” said Hanwha Vision President and CEO Soon-hong Ahn. “As we expand our business from surveillance monitoring and post-event analysis, we will provide customized information through ‘big data’ analytics and actionable solutions that not only prevent incidents but also respond to them in real time. Our new vision solutions will be instrumental in advancing customers’ operational strategies.”

The company will continue to meet customer demand by expanding into the realms of AI, cloud-based services, and thermal imaging. The news release reports that it will continue developing products for surveillance monitoring, post-event analysis, and other fundamental security practices. It will begin emphasizing next-generation vision solutions to build sustainable growth and expand into high-margin business areas.

“We need to think differently and flexibly adapt to the changing needs of customers and the industry,” said Hanwha Vision America President Choonghoon (C.H.) Ha. “That requires a complete shift in mindset, recognizing that what worked as recently as two years ago may not work today, and certainly not for tomorrow.”
