Shooting at High School Leaves 1 Wounded
A male student shot and wounded a female student in the cafeteria of Italy High School in Italy, Texas.

Italy High School, just south of Dallas, Texas, was evacuated on Monday after a male student shot and wounded a female student in the cafeteria, according to police.
The Ellis County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the shooting happened at 7:53 a.m. when at 16-year-old male student entered the school with a gun and shot a 15-year-old female student.
ESCO, the Department of Public Safety, Hill County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers all responded to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody as soon as possible.
Both the high school and Stafford Elementary School were put under lock down and then students were evacuated to a "dome" building on campus where role was called. Students were then released to their parents.
The 15-year-old was the only victim in the shooting and was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
